Caught in a web of passion and self-delusion, Lola longs for freedom to pursue her dreams and make it in NYC. But her world takes a bizarre and thrilling turn when she answers an Internet ad looking for a job and instead finds herself running for her life.
Lola premiered at the HBO New York International Latino Film Festival, and screened at festivals worldwide, winning the Memorable Award at the Greece International Panorama of Independent Film & Video Makers. Lola was also selected to screen at the New Latin Cinema international Film Festival in its special program Latinos in the USA.

Ana, a young Latina in the U.S. Army Reserves, is suddenly called into active duty due to an impending war. The call takes place on the eve of her daughter’s 7th birthday celebration. The impact of this event brings emotional turmoil to Ana and her family, increasing existing tensions between Ana and her mother.
Firecracker aired on the cable network SiTV on its “Not So Foreign Filmmakers Showcase. It also screened at the HBO New York International Latino Film Festival, AluCine Latin Film + Media Arts Festival in Toronto, and other international festivals to considerable acclaim.

Intruder at Café Lienzo is my first film. We filmed it with a Bolex camera, no sync sound. I came up with the story after reading the book Women Who Run with the Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype by Clarissa Pinkola Estés.
